Mechanical Repair

There is a range of mechanical repairs and functions that are often required in the completion of a collision repair. Suspension replacement, wheel alignment, air conditioning evacuation and recharge and vehicle system code diagnostics are the most common requirements. Exhaust repair and replacement, brake replacement and wiring repairs are secondary areas. In the case of front-end impact with frame rail damage the engine and transmission may need to be removed.

The business model of most shops is to sublet this work to outside mechanical operators. Tsawwassen Collision has moved to a new approach and has brought all of this work in-house with current technology equipment and a licensed mechanic on staff.

While the collision side of the business is the primary customer of the mechanical side Tsawwassen Collision does offer some of these services on a retail basis, particularly wheel alignment, suspension and custom exhaust. Our alignment equipment has the capability to handle vehicles up to 1 ton dual wheel pickups and the exhaust pipe bender can work with up to 3 inch diameter pipe.
