Windshield Repair Services
Small chips in the windshield can often be repaired. The cost of the auto glass repair is significantly less than a windshield replacement deductible and the repair can be done in 30 minutes. At Tsawwassen Collision we can often handle the auto glass repair without an appointment. The purpose of the glass repair is to prevent the chip from spreading; while not being invisible the damage is much less apparent after the repair. ICBC no longer pays for chip repair, while some of the private auto insurance companies do.
Windshield Replacement
Windshield replacement prices vary over a broad range with a few under $500 and some well over $1,000. In most cases windshield replacement is dealt with under comprehensive insurance coverage and require two visits to Tsawwassen Collision.
The first visit to Tsawwassen Collision, taking less than 10 minutes, allows us to identify the specific auto glass that is needed, take pictures for the insurance company and schedule the glass replacement. On the second visit we will need the car for four to six hours to allow glass replacement and adhesive cure. Our supplier delivers three times a day and we can schedule glass replacements with very short notice if needed.
Side windows are generally less expensive and in some cases the cost of side window replacement is less than the insurance policy deductible. The rear auto glass is usually more expensive than the windshield.
